(Episode 385; 15 minutes 28) Many launches fail through execution, even though there was nothing inherently wrong with the product. Getting ready for a launch starts early with an equal focus on the customer and the internal workings of your organisation.

Leigh Cowan from Launch Engineering has developed a nine-point checklist for companies to follow in readiness for a new product launch. He says without all elements in place there is a high risk of failure. He takes us through the list on today’s edition of BTalk Australia.

He also has a disturbing statistic from the sports drink industry. Leigh reckons 250 have been launched in the last 10 years — listen in to find out how many have survived.

Does Leigh Cowan’s checklist cover all the elements? If you have other suggestions add them in the Talkback section at the end of this post.
