(Episode 284; 10 minutes 41) Ashley Rosshandler used to work in advertising, coming up with imaginative ways to sell two-minute noodles. Wanting to get more out of life he started Karma Currency, a scheme that enables employees to provide charity gift certificates to employees. The employees can select which not-for-profit organisation or project receives the donation.

It’s not just the charities that benefit. Research has shown that the scheme creates greater employee engagement. Could this be a better way of incentivising your staff than gifts or trips away?

What do you think? Will it catch on? Add your comments in the Talkback section at the end of this post.
