(Episode 268; 17 minutes 59) Bullying at work can force people to leave their job and, in some cases, result in a court hearing. Interestingly, the perpetrator doesn’t always know that they are displaying bullying behaviour.

So why do people bully and how do you stop it happening? Dr Anne Wyatt is a senior lecturer at the School of Risk and Safety Sciences at the University of NSW. She says that your business needs to be aware of the issue and mitigate the risk even if there have been no complaints about bullying. Uncontrolled it can lead to staff turnover, low morale and sabotage.

Resources to help cope with bullying in the workplace are available at the website beyondbullying.com.au.
