(Episode 238: 11min 24) Despite reports of low unemployment, almost one in eight children in Australia live in a family where no parent is working. This is a significant improvement on the situation in the mid-90s, but could get worse with the economic downturn.

Jessica Brown from the Centre for Independent Studies (CIS) says we need to ensure government policies don’t take us back to where we were a decade ago. In today’s BTalk Australia she talks to Phil Dobbie about her CIS paper “Breaking the Cycle of Family Joblessness”.
