A New Puppy for the White House

Go on, I bet you said “Ah” when Barack Obama announced in his victory speech that his daughters would be rewarded with a new puppy for all their support and understanding.

It was a lovely gesture, made all the more so by being announced so publicly.

Acknowledging the support of others is something we tend to overlook when we’re head down, bum up and it’s often those nearest and dearest to us who deserve our thanks the most. Particularly in the land of small business.

I’m not asking you to rush out to the nearest dog pound, just do something unexpected and do it soon.

And doing it in public doesn’t require a packed stadium. Across the dining table, maybe in the company of friends or family members is quite public enough.

So, can you think of someone who needs some acknowledgement?
